The Muslim American Society of Charlotte officially established itself in 2006 as an organization dedicated to serving the community, both Muslim and non-Muslim alike. MAS Charlotte is one of many chapters of the Muslim American Society. Based in cities throughout the country, chapters of MAS work on the same mission and vision: to move people to strive for God-consciousness, liberty and justice, and to convey Islam with the utmost clarity. We do this in pursuit of a just and virtuous American society.
The MAS Center prides itself in being a diverse Islamic center dedicated to serving the community-at-large. With the addition of our Imam John Ederer, more and more people are flocking to the center to expand their knowledge and build a spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood not seen elsewhere. In addition to the many lectures and programs we host to increase a person’s knowledge in Islam, we provide activities to build communal ties in an effort raise spirituality.
With this increased knowledge and spirituality, many of our members race to action by providing needed services to the underprivileged, activities for our younger generation – the youth, and outreach programs to raise awareness of who the Muslims are and what they truly represent.
